Oppo has launched the Reno 16t in China, combining a compact AMOLED display, a large battery, a Dimensity 8-series chipset, and a triple-camera system.
Design and Display
The Oppo Reno 16t features a 6.32-inch flexible AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640×1216 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a pixel density of 460 PPI.
The panel supports 1.07 billion colors and up to 240Hz touch sampling. Oppo’s official specifications list a 1,800-nit global peak brightness, while promotional material mentions a peak figure of 3,600 nits.
The phone measures around 8.36mm in thickness, although the exact figure varies by color, and weighs up to 191g.
It is available in Heartbeat, Galaxy Purple, and Moonlight Black color options. The handset also carries IP68 and IP69K-level dust and water resistance.
Internals and Software
The Reno 16t is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super chipset.
It comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X/LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A higher configuration with 16GB of RAM and 612GB of storage is also available.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, and dual nano-SIM support.
The phone also has an in-display optical fingerprint sensor and an AI Plus key on the left side for accessing Mind Space.
Cameras
The Oppo Reno 16t has a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 116-degree field of view, and a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS.
The rear camera system supports up to 3.5x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom.
On the front, the phone has a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.
Video features include 4K recording at 60fps, HDR video, and dual-view video.
Battery and Pricing
The Reno 16t packs a 6,700mAh battery and supports both 80W SuperVOOC and 80W UFCS fast charging.
In China, the phone starts at 3,699 yuan, or around $550, for the 12GB+256GB version.
The Reno 16t is essentially the same as the Reno 16 already available in China. However, it costs 200 yuan more and is mainly targeted at the offline retail market.
