State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said Islamabad will be covered with cameras and three dams will be built in the next three to four years to address the capital’s water shortage.
Speaking at a convention in Islamabad, he said negative politics should be avoided and stressed that the situation can only improve if people cast their votes while keeping Allah in mind and choosing candidates on the basis of performance.
He said businesspeople thoroughly examine managers before handing over their businesses and urged voters to stop deciding based on caste, vehicle or appearance.
Referring to Islamabad’s administrative system, he said the capital deserves its own system and noted that every fault found in a disconnected city is also present in Islamabad.
He said 1,100 billion rupees worth of land had been recovered in Islamabad.
Talal Chaudhry said every inch of Islamabad would be covered with cameras, while 70 percent of the Islamabad police force is over the age of 55. He added that 10,000 new personnel will be recruited and no appointments will be made without merit.
The minister said Pakistan is facing a 50 percent water shortage, but three dams for Islamabad will be completed in three to four years.
He also said Islamabad lacks an effective waste collection system and that an international-standard system will be introduced for garbage disposal.
Talal Chaudhry added that the number of people travelling daily on the Metro Bus Service is higher than the number of votes Islamabad receives, and said a provincial government has been sending 1122 vehicles and ambulances towards the federation.
