Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal has said the universities conducting the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be responsible for ensuring a smooth, transparent and fair examination.
Speaking at a press conference at the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) on Wednesday, Kamal said provincial authorities and designated universities must ensure proper security and examination arrangements.
The MDCAT will take place on September 20, 2026, across 34 cities and towns in Pakistan and one international venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A total of 138,160 candidates have registered for the examination.
PM&DC has prepared a question bank of around 8,000 questions, with approximately 80 subject experts contributing to its preparation under strict security arrangements. Each province has also received at least two separate question papers containing 180 questions each.
The minister said PM&DC has completed its responsibilities, including candidate registration, sharing candidate data with provinces and universities, and providing a uniform syllabus and question bank.
He said the respective universities will remain responsible for printing, storing and transporting examination papers and declaring results. In case of paper leakage or a failure to ensure transparency, the concerned university will be held responsible for the examination process.
