Lahore Traffic Police to Register FIRs for These Violations

Lahore Traffic Police will register first information reports (FIRs) against motorists involved in serious traffic violations, introducing stricter action against dangerous driving and the illegal use of vehicle equipment.

Under the new directive, police will register FIRs against drivers who violate one-way restrictions, overspeed, drive dangerously in a zigzag manner or perform drifting on public roads.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has also ordered FIRs against people using police flasher lights, unauthorized blue lights and green number plates illegally. These violations will no longer be dealt with through traffic challans alone.

Motorists who conceal, alter or tamper with their vehicle number plates to hide their identities will also face FIRs, according to the directive.

The measures further cover people who block roads, engage in rash driving or operate vehicles negligently and carelessly. Lahore Traffic Police will also take action against those involved in dangerous zigzag driving, drifting and disorderly behavior on public roads.

The new measures aim to strengthen enforcement of traffic laws and address practices that endanger other road users. Drivers found committing the listed violations could face FIRs instead of receiving only traffic challans.
