KP Reports Highest Single-Day Dengue Cases of 2026

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) reported nearly 100 new dengue cases on Monday, marking the highest daily tally of 2026 as the province continues to face a growing threat from the disease during October.

According to the latest report from the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response System (IDSRS), 99 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial total to 4,091.

The report revealed that 144 patients are currently suffering from dengue, while 3,946 have recovered. One person from Tank also recently died of the disease in Dera Ismail Khan.

Kohat remains the worst-affected district with 2,567 cases, followed by Peshawar with 566, Bannu with 192, Khyber with 120, and Haripur with 112.

Other affected districts include Charsadda with 75 cases, Abbottabad with 71, Nowshera with 51, Karak with 43, Mansehra with 38, Dera Ismail Khan with 35, Swabi with 28, and Mohmand with 14. The remaining districts have reported cases in single digits.

Kohat has been particularly affected during October, recording 80 cases since the beginning of the month, compared to 24 in Bannu and 18 in Peshawar.

The health department has been taking measures to control the outbreak in Kohat, where rising infections have put additional pressure on hospitals.

Health experts said the overall situation remains better than last year, when the province recorded more than 6,000 dengue cases, including over 1,000 in Charsadda following an outbreak in several union councils.

However, Kohat has emerged as a new dengue hotspot this year, with the health department already identifying the reasons behind the high number of infections.

Experts warned that the coming weeks remain critical, as favorable mosquito-breeding conditions could lead to a further increase in cases.
