KP Clarifies School Closures During Long March
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education Department has said that schools may be closed for one day if road blockages caused by the PTI long march create difficulties for students and staff.
The department clarified that government schools across the province are currently open as usual. However, school administrations have been allowed to suspend classes for a day if they believe road closures could disrupt the movement of students and employees.
The clarification comes as several private schools in Peshawar remained closed on Thursday ahead of the arrival of PTI’s long march.
According to reports, private school administrations decided to keep their institutions closed to avoid possible travel difficulties for students and staff due to blocked roads.
Parents were informed about the closures through messages shared in school WhatsApp groups.
School administrations said the decision was taken as a precaution because possible road blockages during the long march could make it difficult for students and staff to travel to and from schools.
