The Islamabad Model Jail project has moved closer to completion after 15 years of delays, with the government planning to inaugurate the facility next month. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry chaired a meeting to review the project’s progress and the remaining work.
Naqvi directed all relevant departments to complete the remaining work as soon as possible. He also instructed officials to finish all construction, administrative and other necessary arrangements before the inauguration.
Naqvi said the 15-year-old project could not face any further unnecessary delays. He directed all relevant institutions to coordinate closely and complete the project within the planned timeline.
Talal Chaudhry said he personally monitors the project’s progress and visits the site every week. He said officials continuously monitor the work and coordinate with all relevant institutions to complete the project on time. The meeting also reviewed the remaining construction work, administrative matters and preparations for the inauguration.
The Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency, Federal Prosecutor General, Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
