Housing Loans Reach Record High of Rs. 286 Billion

Housing loans in Pakistan reached an all-time high of Rs. 286 billion in July 2026, driven by stronger demand for subsidized home financing under the government’s Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana scheme.

Topline Securities said the increase reflects growing uptake of the government’s housing finance program, which offers subsidized financing to improve affordability for home buyers.

The rise in housing loans points to stronger demand for mortgage financing and could help increase mortgage penetration in Pakistan, where formal housing finance remains relatively limited.

The trend is also expected to support further growth in housing finance across the banking sector as more borrowers gain access to affordable home loans.
