Honor has officially announced MagicOS 11, its Android 17-based operating system, at the company’s Global Developer Conference.
The update introduces an iOS-inspired liquid glass design, faster system animations, an upgraded Yoyo AI assistant, improved storage management, and broader cross-device connectivity.
The update should reach compatible Honor phones as the patch becomes available around the globe.
New Liquid Glass Design
Honor developed the new interface using its custom Luminous and Hummingbird base architectures, which are designed to improve user interface dynamics, AI processing, and hardware performance.
Despite the more complex visual design, Honor claims MagicOS 11 delivers system animations that are up to 20% faster than MagicOS 10.
The update also introduces redesigned icons, menu items, and widgets.
Users can customize the tint of home screen icons and the dock as well.
Yoyo AI Gets a Major Upgrade
Honor has also upgraded its Yoyo AI assistant.
The company says Yoyo is configured to handle more than 1,000 scenarios and can integrate with over 10,000 third-party AI services, at least in China.
Honor also claims the assistant can complete long multi-step tasks involving as many as 100 steps.
Storage Space 2.0 Can Free Up More Space
MagicOS 11 introduces Storage Space 2.0, which uses lossless compression for stored data.
Honor claims the feature can free up as much as 60GB of storage without losing data.
The operating system also expands file sharing and device connectivity.
Honor says MagicOS 11 can connect and share files with Apple ecosystem devices, as well as devices from Oppo, vivo and Xiaomi.
MagicOS 11 Beta Expands to More Devices
MagicOS 11 will make its official debut on the upcoming Honor Magic9 series.
The public beta is already available for more than 18 devices, including models from the Magic8 series, Magic V6, and Honor 600 series.
Honor is also allowing another group of devices to register for the internal beta. These include the Magic6 series, Magic V3, Honor 400 series, and Honor 500 series.
The next wave of supported devices is scheduled to join the testing program between October and November.
