GTA 6 Earns Back $2 Billion Spent in Making the Game
Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has recovered around $2 billion in development costs ahead of its release.
A report said the game had already earned back the$2 billion spent in its production.
The $2 billion cost itself has not been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games or parent company Take-Two Interactive. Outside estimates have placed the game’s total investment in the range of $1 billion to $2 billion, depending on whether development, marketing and other costs are included.
Separate industry estimates show just how strong demand could be. Sensor Tower has projected that GTA 6 could attract around 25 million preorders, potentially generating about $2 billion in revenue before launch.
Take-Two has described preorder demand as unprecedented but has not disclosed an exact figure.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026. The game is expected to become one of the biggest entertainment releases in history.
