A foreign national was robbed of Rs. 8 million in cash and other valuables during an armed robbery at a private residence in Islamabad’s G-10 sector.

According to the FIR registered on the victim’s complaint, five armed men entered the house and held the foreign national, security guard, cook and translator hostage at gunpoint. One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a police uniform.

The suspects remained inside the residence for around 90 minutes and searched the property before taking Rs8 million in cash and other valuables. They then fled the scene.

Police have registered a case against the unidentified suspects and launched an investigation.

Officials said evidence has been collected from the crime scene and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Raids are also being conducted at various locations to arrest those involved.

The incident has raised security concerns as the suspects reportedly spent an extended period inside the residence while holding multiple people hostage before escaping with the stolen cash and valuables.
