FIA Offloads Passenger at Islamabad Airport After Finding Suspicious Stamps
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) offloaded a Saudi Arabia-bound passenger at Islamabad International Airport after immigration officials found suspicious Malaysian stamps on his passport.
According to the FIA, the passenger was traveling to Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa when immigration officials stopped him during document verification.
Officials found suspicious stamps on pages 8 and 9 of the passenger’s passport and subsequently offloaded him from flight ED270.
The passenger was referred to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking and Smuggling Centre (AHTC) in Islamabad for further investigation.
The FIA has launched an inquiry to determine the source of the suspicious stamps and establish whether any individuals or facilitators were involved in preparing or using potentially fraudulent documents.
The agency said its officials are investigating the matter and will take legal action against those found involved in preparing, supplying, or using fake travel documents.
The incident highlights the document verification process used by immigration authorities to identify irregularities before passengers leave the country.
