The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has issued new guidelines for installing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters to improve connectivity and reduce technical issues.
Under the new instructions, SIM cards will be selected based on the telecom operator offering the best signal coverage in each urban and rural area.
FESCO has directed all its circles to assess local mobile network signal quality before selecting SIM cards for AMI meters.
According to company officials, the move is expected to significantly reduce incidents of meters shutting down or losing connectivity, ensuring better service for consumers.
The instructions have been issued to all FESCO circles, and implementation is already underway.
