Punjab has recorded a 34 percent decline in fatal traffic accidents across the province.
According to the spokesperson, the number of deadly accidents fell in 26 districts of Punjab.
Lahore also saw a 14 percent decrease in fatal accidents.
This year, Khushab, Murree and Muzaffargarh recorded a 100 percent reduction in fatal accidents, while seven districts in Punjab reported fewer than two deadly crashes.
The figures showed an 82 percent decline in Sahiwal, 75 percent in Layyah and 74 percent in Rahim Yar Khan.
DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir said strict enforcement and public awareness campaigns helped reduce road accidents.
He said efforts were continuing to ensure the Safe Punjab and Safe Highways mission is fully achieved.
