A couple and their three children have died under unexplained circumstances in Greater Noida, in India’s Uttar Pradesh state, reportedly after eating noodles.
The deaths have raised concern. However, investigators have not confirmed any connection between the noodles and the deaths.
According to Indian media reports, food safety officials inspected packets of food and drinks the family had used.
Food Safety Officer O P Singh said the team found no expiry-date problems or suspicious items during the inspection.
He added that officials examined all the food products the family had consumed. However, their initial checks uncovered nothing that could explain the deaths. Singh also said food poisoning typically causes symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea.
After the inspection found nothing suspicious in the food, a food safety officer suggested that someone may have poisoned the family.
However, authorities have not established that possibility as the cause. Investigations continue to determine what killed the couple and their three children.
