The Motorway Police has announced a traffic diversion plan for heavy and cargo vehicles travelling from Lahore towards Islamabad from September 23, 2026.
According to Motorway Police spokesperson, heavy vehicles travelling on the M-2 and M-3 motorways towards Islamabad will be diverted at Kala Shah Kaku and directed towards GT Road.
The authorities have designated GT Road as the alternative route for large vehicles heading towards Islamabad during the restriction. Vehicles reaching Kala Shah Kaku will be moved off the M-2 and redirected towards GT Road.
The Motorway Police has advised drivers to follow the designated alternative route and comply with traffic instructions during the diversion.
Drivers should check the route and traffic situation before starting their journey. They should also follow the latest traffic instructions issued by the Motorway Police.
