Dengue Cases Keep Rising in Rawalpindi
Two new confirmed dengue cases were reported in Rawalpindi district on October 5 and 6, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 42.
According to the latest dengue data released by the District Health Authority on Tuesday, 10 confirmed patients remain admitted in hospital isolation wards.
Total hospital screenings rose by 67, from 5,094 to 5,161, while suspected cases increased by 63 to reach 4,762.
The total number of hospital admissions fell slightly from 13 to 12, though the number of admitted confirmed dengue cases remained unchanged at 10.
Health authorities said no dengue-related deaths have been reported in the district in 2026.
The 12 infections recorded in October were found in high-risk areas including Chaklala Cantonment, Wah Cantt, Adyala, Fouji Colony, Pindora, Dhama Syedan, Qayumabad, Chah Sultan, Dhamyal and CTR-II.
Vector surveillance teams continued field operations and detected 1,982 additional larva-positive sites over the two days.
High-risk zones with severe larval concentrations were identified in Chaklala Cantonment, Takhat Pari and Rawalpindi Cantonment.
Punitive actions remained unchanged, including 2,798 FIRs, 686 sealed premises, 2,331 challans, and fines worth Rs 3.15 million.
