Paramount Pictures is reportedly developing a live-action film adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077, according to a new report.
The project has not yet been officially confirmed by CD Projekt RED.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura Reportedly Producing
Veteran producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is reportedly attached to produce the film alongside Paramount.
Di Bonaventura has worked on several major Hollywood franchises over the past two decades, including Transformers, G.I. Joe, The Meg, Constantine, RED, Salt, Shooter, Bumblebee, and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.
He is also involved with the long-discussed Constantine 2 project.
Keanu Reeves Could Be an Obvious Choice
No casting details have been revealed so far.
However, Di Bonaventura has worked with Keanu Reeves multiple times in the past, which could make a return for Reeves as Johnny Silverhand an obvious possibility.
Reeves played a major role in Cyberpunk 2077, but there is currently no confirmation that he is involved in the film.
His participation would ultimately depend on the direction of the adaptation and his availability.
Few Details Are Known
There is currently no information about the movie’s director, writer, cast, production schedule, or release date.
It is also unclear whether the film would directly adapt the events of Cyberpunk 2077 or tell a separate story set in the same universe.
For now, the project appears to be at an early stage.
Cyberpunk 2077 Has Sold Over 40 Million Copies
Cyberpunk 2077 has become one of CD Projekt RED’s biggest commercial successes.
The game has sold more than 40 million copies, while the Phantom Liberty expansion has surpassed 15 million sales.
CD Projekt RED is also developing a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
That project remains in pre-production and is not expected to arrive until around 2030 or later.
