Commissioner Peshawar Orders to Speed Up Construction of Flyovers and Underpasses
Peshawar Division Commissioner Khalid Mahmood has directed authorities to accelerate work on key flyovers and underpasses along Ring Road and complete them within their scheduled deadlines.
Chairing a meeting on ongoing development projects, he reviewed progress on the Jamil Chowk Underpass, Hazara Khwani Flyover, Pishtakhara Chowk Underpass, and the underpass near the Hayatabad Ring Road Toll Plaza.
The meeting was attended by the Peshawar deputy commissioner, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) director general, PDA chief engineer, director roads, and other administrative and technical officials.
Mahmood instructed the departments concerned to promptly resolve obstacles delaying construction. He also called for closer coordination and a joint strategy to keep the projects on schedule.
The commissioner said the completed flyovers and underpasses would make Ring Road fully signal-free, improve traffic flow, and allow commuters to travel more conveniently.
He also ordered officials to speed up construction on the remaining sections of the Northern Bypass, including the flyovers at Warsak Road and Charsadda Road.
Mahmood stressed that completing these projects at the earliest was essential to improving travel conditions for Peshawar’s residents.
