China’s Guangdong men’s hockey team will visit Pakistan for an 18-day tour from October 12 to 30, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced.
During the tour, the Chinese side will play a series of matches against leading institutional teams as well as Pakistan’s Under-21 and Under-18 squads.
Guangdong will travel to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Wah Cantt, Narowal, Lahore, and Gojra. The team will arrive in Pakistan on October 12, followed by a welcome dinner on October 13.
Its first match will be played against MPCL at the MPCL Hockey Stadium in Rawalpindi on October 14. The Chinese side will also face Pakistan Army, Navy, Police, PDC, Pakistan Customs, and Rangers during the tour.
The visit will also provide international exposure to Pakistan’s junior players. Guangdong will take on Pakistan Under-21 in Gojra on October 26 before facing Pakistan Under-18 in Lahore on October 27.
PHF President Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani said the tour would help strengthen hockey ties between Pakistan and China while giving young Pakistani players valuable international experience.
The Guangdong delegation will return to China on October 30.
