Buying GTA 6 Could Save You $5,000
Buying Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) could save you $5,000 (about Rs. 1.38 million), according to British entrepreneur and finance YouTuber Mark Tilbury, who argues that the game works out far cheaper per hour than a typical night out.
In a video posted on Instagram on October 31, Tilbury broke down the cost of the game against hours of play, just weeks before GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
How the $5,000 Claim Works
Tilbury bases his math on a price of $99.99 for the game. If it takes 80 hours to complete the story, he says, that works out to about $1.25 per hour of entertainment. Once side missions and exploring the map are added, he estimates the cost falls to around 50 cents an hour.
He then assumes a player spends four hours every evening on the game, which he says adds up to 50 nights of entertainment. Compared with going out, where he says a person could easily spend $100 in a single night, those 50 nights would cost $5,000. “That’s why buying GTA 6 actually saves you $5,000,” he says in the video.
The 50-cent figure only works if the game delivers about 200 hours of play, which is what four hours a night for 50 nights adds up to. These playtime figures are Tilbury’s own estimates, not official numbers from Rockstar Games.
What GTA 6 Actually Costs
The $99.99 figure Tilbury uses is the price of the Ultimate Edition. According to Rockstar’s pre-order announcement, the Standard Edition costs $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition, which adds premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and in-game businesses, sells for $99.99. ProPakistani earlier reported on the official GTA 6 price when it was revealed in June.
Pre-orders and purchases made before November 20 include the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital pre-orders also come with a free month of GTA+.
Players who pre-order digitally can start pre-loading the game on November 12. Physical copies will only contain a download code inside the box, with no disc.
What This Means for You
At the interbank rate of Rs. 276.76 per dollar (October 29 close), the Standard Edition comes to roughly Rs. 22,138 and the Ultimate Edition to about Rs. 27,673, before any bank charges or taxes on international card payments.
Using Tilbury’s own assumptions, the Standard Edition is even cheaper per hour than his example. At 80 hours, it costs about $1 (Rs. 277) per hour, and at 200 hours it falls to about 40 cents (around Rs. 111) per hour.
The $5,000 figure is also a gross number. Since the game itself costs $99.99 in his example, the net saving would be about $4,900 (roughly Rs. 1.36 million), and that only holds if a player would otherwise have spent $100 on each of those 50 nights.
For most Pakistani households, a $100 night out (about Rs. 27,676) is very high, so the actual “saving” depends on what a player would have spent instead.
The Catch
The calculation leaves out the cost of a console. GTA 6 will launch only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and players without one will have to buy hardware first.
Gamers will also need enough storage and internet data to download the game, whose download size has been reported ahead of launch.
