The Balochistan government has announced new winter office timings for government departments, which will remain in effect from October 15, 2026 to April 14, 2027.
According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, government offices will remain open from 8:30am to 4pm from Monday to Thursday, with a lunch and prayer break from 1:30pm to 2pm.
On Fridays, office timings will be from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a break from 1:15 pm to 2:15 pm for Friday prayers and lunch.
Under the new schedule, government offices will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays, giving employees two weekly holidays.
Sources said the new winter timings will not apply to hospitals and educational institutions.
Universities, colleges and schools will remain exempt from the revised schedule.
Attached offices of the Health and Education Departments will work on a six-day week. These offices will remain open from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday from 8:30am to 2:30pm, while on Friday they will operate from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
The new winter schedule has been introduced to adjust government office routines according to seasonal conditions.
