Austria Announces Jobs for Skilled Pakistanis
The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) has highlighted job opportunities in Austria for skilled Pakistani workers in several sectors facing labor shortages.
According to the bureau, qualified Pakistanis can explore employment opportunities under Austria’s Red-White-Red Card scheme, which allows eligible non-EU citizens to live and work in the country.
The occupations highlighted include IT professionals, electrical and electronics engineers, drivers, retail workers, shopkeepers, restaurant professionals, chefs, and kitchen staff.
Austria’s Red-White-Red Card is a residence and work permit generally issued for two years. It initially allows foreign workers to work for the employer specified in their application.
Eligible workers may later apply for a Red-White-Red Card Plus, which provides broader access to the Austrian labor market, subject to certain requirements.
The BEOE has also referred to employment prospects for 2027 and a figure of 15,000 cards. However, the exact scope of this figure and the occupations it covers have yet to be confirmed through official Austrian sources.
Eligibility for the scheme depends on several factors, including educational qualifications, professional experience, language skills, age, and a job offer where required.
Interested Pakistani workers are advised to check the requirements for their respective occupations and verify the relevant details through official Austrian sources before applying.
