India-based gaming company Arc has launched its first gaming handheld, the Arc X1, with a Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 chipset, a 120Hz display, and a large 9,300mAh battery.
The handheld runs OwlOS, a custom Android-based operating system built specifically for gaming. It supports Android games, emulators, and cloud gaming services, while also allowing users to adjust game-specific performance and control settings.
The Arc X1 features a 7-inch LCD display with a Full HD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the screen.
For controls, the handheld comes with replaceable analog sticks designed to prevent stick drift, microswitch ABXY buttons, and a D-pad. It also has two programmable buttons on the rear. Arc has added two Linear Resonant Actuators for haptic feedback.
The device weighs around 500 grams and includes front-facing stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual microphones.
The Arc X1 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 gaming chipset. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Users can expand the storage through the built-in microSD card slot.
Arc has also included an active cooling system with a fan. The company says the system is designed to help keep the handheld cool during longer gaming sessions.
The device runs OwlOS, which is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The software allows users to play Android games, run emulators, and access cloud streaming services. It also provides per-game controls for performance, resolution scaling, fan curves, and other settings.
For connectivity, the Arc X1 supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. It also has a USB Type-C 3.1 port.
The handheld packs a 9,300mAh battery and supports 27W wired fast charging. According to Arc, the X1 can provide up to eight hours of usage in silent mode.
The large battery is paired with the active cooling system, which includes a fan for managing heat during extended gaming sessions.
The Arc X1 is priced at $349 in India. It is unclear if it will launch in the international market.
