All Water Filtration Plants in Punjab to Go Digital
The Punjab government has decided to shift all water filtration plants across the province to a digital coding system on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority chaired by CEO Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhon, where officials reviewed plans to move data from filtration plants across Punjab, including Lahore, to a digital dashboard.
Under the new system, each water filtration plant will be assigned a unique digital code. The plant code, operator’s contact number, and helpline number will also be displayed at every facility.
The authority has also directed field staff to submit daily reports on the operational status of filtration plants to ensure the uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water. Any fault or issue identified at a plant will be reported for immediate action.
Bhon said the digital dashboard will allow the authority to monitor filtration plants across Punjab more effectively and regularly assess their performance.
All relevant field officers participated in the meeting online and reviewed matters related to the monitoring of filtration plants and the implementation of the new digital system.
