The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has extended the suspension of trading in the shares of five companies for another 60 days from September 21, 2026, as they have not removed the issues that led to the suspension.
The companies are Abson Industries Limited (PSX: ABSON), English Leasing Limited (PSX: ENGL), Sadoon Textile Industries Limited (PSX: SDOT), Hakkim Textile Mills Limited (PSX: HKKT) and Suraj Ghee Industries Limited (PSX: SURAJ). PSX said trading will remain suspended until the causes of suspension are rectified or for another 60-day-period effective September 21.
According to the PSX notice, all five companies failed to hold their annual general meetings, submit annual audited accounts and pay outstanding dues to the exchange.
Abson Industries also failed to induct its ordinary shares into the Central Depository System. An official liquidator has been appointed by the court following a winding-up petition filed by the company’s creditors.
English Leasing faces a winding-up petition filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, in addition to its other outstanding non-compliances.
Sadoon Textile Industries also failed to induct its ordinary shares into the CDS, while the SECP has issued an order to initiate winding up proceedings against the company. Hakkim Textile Mills similarly failed to induct its shares into the CDS, while the SECP has filed a winding-up petition against it.
Suraj Ghee Industries also failed to induct its ordinary shares into the CDS and faces winding-up petitions filed by both the SECP and the company’s creditors.
PSX said the decision was taken under Subsection (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015 and Clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations.
