Director of Ainak Wala Jin TV Show Speaks Out Against Unauthorized AI Film
Hafeez Tahir, the director of Pakistan’s popular comedy serial Ainak Wala Jin, has strongly criticised filmmakers for creating an AI-generated movie based on the drama without his permission.
Tahir shared a video on Instagram and said he felt deeply shocked and angry over the development. He claimed that the filmmakers had taken control of his lifelong creative work and used its name to produce an artificial intelligence-based film.
He added that the filmmakers had also released the movie in cinemas without seeking his approval.
Hafeez Tahir Claims Ownership of Ainak Wala Jin Concept
Tahir said Ainak Wala Jin was his original idea and creative work. He also described himself as the concept writer of the famous children’s serial.
According to Tahir, he selected the drama’s title and directed the entire production. He said he created a high-quality television serial and handed it over to Pakistan Television.
He further claimed that PTV earned tens of millions of rupees from the success of the program.
Director Says Filmmaker Did Not Seek Permission
Tahir accused filmmaker Farhan Khan of producing the AI film without contacting him or seeking his consent.
He also criticised PTV, which reportedly served as the film’s media partner. Tahir said the state broadcaster did not ask him to participate in the movie’s production.
AI Film Allegedly Changed Popular Characters
The director also raised concerns about the appearance of the drama’s famous characters in the AI-generated film.
He claimed that the filmmakers had changed and damaged their original designs. In particular, he objected to the altered appearance of Nastoor Jin, one of the serial’s main characters.
Moreover, Tahir criticised the voices used in the film. He also described its AI-generated music as poor in quality.
Ainak Wala Jin was a children’s comedy serial that aired on PTV from 1993 to 1996. The programme became highly popular among both children and adults across Pakistan.
