CMF Launches First Open-Ear Earbuds With Smart Dial Case

Nothing’s budget-focused CMF brand has entered the growing open-ear audio market with the CMF Clip Pro.

The new earbuds focus on comfort and environmental awareness rather than fully blocking outside noise. CMF is also offering the clip-style design at a more accessible price and has added a distinctive control knob to the charging case.

Design and Durability

Each CMF Clip Pro earbud weighs 5.9 grams and carries an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water.

The earbuds use a flexible C-shaped bridge with a titanium wire core. Users can bend the structure to fit different ear shapes. The CMF Clip Pro will be available in Dark Grey, Light Grey and Coral.

Each earbud also includes a physical button. This makes the controls easier to use during exercise or while wearing gloves.

Audio and Connectivity

The CMF Clip Pro uses a 10.8mm dual-magnetic dynamic driver with a TPU diaphragm.

Nothing says the driver is larger than most drivers found in clip-on earbuds.

The earbuds support Bluetooth 5.4 and can connect to two devices at the same time. Supported audio codecs include LDAC, AAC, and SBC.

They also work with Google Quick Pair and Microsoft Quick Pair for faster connections with supported devices.

Smart Dial Charging Case

The charging case includes CMF’s Smart Dial, also known as the smart knob.

Users can turn or press the control to adjust the volume, manage playback, answer calls, or begin the pairing process without unlocking their phones.

Open-Ear Listening

The Clip Pro uses an open-ear clip-style design that allows surrounding sounds to remain audible while directing audio toward the ear canal.

CMF has also added technology designed to reduce the loss of bass that commonly affects open-ear earbuds.

The design targets commuters, people exercising, and users who prefer not to seal their ears completely.

Battery Life and Price

CMF rates the earbuds at up to 10 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. The charging case extends the total listening time to up to 32.5 hours.

A 10-minute quick charge can provide several additional hours of playback.

Sales will begin in the UK, US and Japan on August 15 through Nothing’s website and selected retail partners. The earbuds will cost £79 in the UK and $99 in the US.

They will become available in Europe and other markets from September 15. The earbuds will not be sold in India.
