Bahawalpur Gets 13 More Electric Buses
Bahawalpur is set to expand its public transport network after 13 more electric buses arrived in the city on Wednesday, taking the total fleet to 35.
Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar confirmed the arrival of the second batch, saying the latest addition had strengthened the city’s e-bus service. He claimed Bahawalpur now had the largest fleet of electric buses among Punjab’s major cities.
The expanded fleet will also pave the way for new bus routes, giving residents access to public transport in additional areas. However, authorities have yet to finalize the routes.
Channar said the district administration would consult elected representatives before deciding where the new buses would operate. The administration is expected to announce the routes once the consultations are complete.
