Askari Bank Limited (PSX: AKBL) has announced a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 13.3 billion for the half year 2026, up by 25 percent year-on-year (YoY) from the PAT of Rs. 10.62 billion reported in the same period last year.
According to the bank’s unconsolidated financial results, PAT for the period April-June 2026 (Q2) surged by 93 percent YoY to Rs. 6.76 billion.
Along with the result, AKBL announced an interim cash dividend for the half year at Rs. 2 per share i.e. 20 percent. According to AKBL’s released financials at PSX, this is in addition to First Interim Cash Dividend already paid at Rs. 2 per share i.e. 20 percent.
The bank’s profit before tax of Rs. 28 billion for H1 recorded an increase of 1.2 percent over last year but taxation to the tune of Rs. 14.7 billion lowered PAT growth.
During H1, the bank’s total income increased by 15 percent YoY to Rs. 56.5 billion compared to Rs. 49.2 billion reported in H1 2025. The net markup income increased to Rs. 43.9 billion, up 3.5 percent YoY from Rs. 42.4 billion reported in the same period last year.
The fee and commission income of the bank increased by 49 percent YoY to Rs. 4.8 billion.
AKBL’s foreign exchange income increased to Rs. 3 billion in H1, registering a growth of over 75 percent YoY compared to Rs. 1.7 billion the previous year. Dividend income lept up by 56 percent YoY to Rs. 720 million, 57 percent higher than Rs. 459 million reported in H1 2025.
The bank’s operating expense in H1 registered an increase of 40 percent YoY and stood at Rs. 28 billion compared to Rs. 20.5 billion reported in the previous year.
Meanwhile, AKBL’s other income remained flat at Rs. 316.8 million compared to Rs. 316.6 million reported in H1 2025.
AKBL paid Rs. 14.7 billion in tax in H1 and Rs. 7.6 billion in Q2 2026.
The bank’s scrip at the bourse stood at Rs. 105.24, up 2.11 percent or Rs. 2.17 with over 10 million shares at Friday’s close.
