Pakistani Star All-Rounder Ruled Out of National Champions Cup 2026

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has been ruled out of the ongoing National Champions Cup 2026 after suffering a fracture to his right middle finger, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed.

The 32-year-old sustained the injury while fielding for Pakistan Gold during their August 12 match against Pakistan Blues at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Despite the injury, Nawaz completed his full quota of 10 overs, conceding 44 runs without taking a wicket. Pakistan Gold eventually lost the match by six wickets.

Nawaz underwent scans on August 13, which confirmed the fracture. According to the PCB, the injury will keep him out of action for at least three weeks.

The board said Nawaz will report to its Sports and Exercise Medicine Department after two weeks, where he will begin conditioning and go through the required Return-to-Play (RTP) protocols under the supervision of the medical team.

The clash against Pakistan Blues proved to be Nawaz’s only appearance in the National Champions Cup 2026. He scored eight runs with the bat in addition to his figures of 0/44 from 10 overs.
