SpaceXAI has launched Grok Bot in beta, a new service that gives users persistent AI agents capable of working across apps, websites, and files with limited supervision.
Unlike a conventional chatbot, each Grok Bot can use a persistent cloud computer, sign into services, and complete multi-step work before returning to the user when it finishes or needs approval. The agents can continue working in the background even when the user’s own computer is not active.
Multiple AI Agents Can Work Together
Users can create several Bots and run them simultaneously. SpaceXAI says the agents can communicate with each other, share context when their projects overlap, and coordinate responsibilities.
The Bots also retain role-specific context between tasks, allowing them to remember workflows, pick up older conversations, and adapt to how a user prefers to work.
SpaceXAI says it has already used earlier versions internally for tasks across engineering, sales, marketing and operations. Examples include researching sales leads overnight, retrieving expense receipts from email and working on software bugs.
Limited Beta Access
Grok Bot is initially available to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers.
The beta is available on macOS, Windows, Linux and iOS, while Android support is expected later. Businesses and larger teams can also join a waitlist for future access.
The product puts SpaceXAI directly into the growing workplace-agent market alongside services such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work and Anthropic’s Claude Cowork.
Is it Safe to Use?
The launch also raises security questions because Grok Bot requires access to accounts and services to perform work. A previous investigation into Grok Build found that the coding tool transmitted entire tracked Git repositories and their histories to xAI’s cloud, and that files containing committed secrets could also be included.
SpaceXAI’s documentation advises users to review approvals, security, and privacy settings before giving Grok Bot access to sensitive systems.
SpaceX and Cursor Are Getting Closer
Grok Bot arrives as SpaceX moves ahead with its planned acquisition of Anysphere, the company behind Cursor.
SpaceX agreed in June to acquire Anysphere in a $60 billion all-stock deal. The transaction is expected to close during the third quarter of 2026, after which Cursor would become a wholly owned SpaceX subsidiary.
