Google has launched the Pixel Watch 5 alongside the Pixel 11 series, bringing improved health tracking, more storage, slightly larger batteries, and built-in Gemini Intelligence.
The smartwatch continues to come in 41mm and 45mm sizes, with both Wi-Fi and LTE versions available. Google has largely retained the circular design introduced with previous generations.
Display, Build and Colors
The Pixel Watch 5 retains Google’s round AMOLED display and reaches up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
The watch carries IP68 dust and water resistance along with a 5ATM water-resistance rating, allowing it to handle everyday exposure to water and support swimming activities.
The 41mm model comes in Matte Black, Polished Silver, Champagne Gold and Satin Pyrite finishes. The larger 45mm version is available in Matte Black, Polished Silver and Satin Pyrite.
Google also offers several bands, including a Stephen Curry special-edition option.
Performance, Storage and Connectivity
The Pixel Watch 5 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated chipset with a Cortex-M55 co-processor. Google says the accelerated version delivers improved performance over the previous generation.
Storage has doubled from 32GB on the Pixel Watch 4 to 64GB of eMMC storage.
The smartwatch ships with Wear OS 7 and includes Gemini Intelligence, which Google positions as a more proactive personal assistant for wearable devices.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth 6, Wi-Fi, NFC and Ultra-Wideband, while LTE models can also connect to cellular networks without relying entirely on a nearby phone.
Health and Fitness Tracking
Google says the Pixel Watch 5 offers its most accurate sleep tracking yet on a Pixel Watch.
Health features include SpO2 monitoring, ECG, skin-temperature sensing, and Loss of Pulse Detection. Built-in GPS is also included for tracking outdoor workouts and routes.
Battery and Price
Google has slightly increased battery capacity this generation. The 41mm Pixel Watch 5 has a 332mAh battery and is rated for up to 30 hours with the always-on display enabled or up to 48 hours in Battery Saver mode.
The 45mm model uses a 465mAh battery and provides up to 40 hours with the always-on display or up to 72 hours with Battery Saver enabled. Both models can reach 50% charge in around 15 minutes using Google’s Quick Charge Dock.
The 41mm Wi-Fi Pixel Watch 5 starts at $399, while the LTE version costs $499. The 45mm Wi-Fi model is priced at $429, while the LTE version costs $529.
