Pakistan has won the team title at the 21st World Youth Scrabble Championship, securing the crown for the seventh time after a strong performance by its young players.
The Pakistani contingent finished first in the team event and also won the highest number of trophies at the championship.
In the individual competition, Australia’s Dainth Fernando was crowned world champion, while three Pakistani players managed to secure places in the top 10.
Pakistan also dominated several age-group categories. Ahmad Salman won the Under-16 world title, while Ahed Sault Fatimi was crowned champion in the Under-14 category.
Mustafa Farhan finished runner-up in the Under-12 category, while Taimur Waseem, the youngest player in the Pakistani team, claimed the Under-10 world title. Taimur had also won the Under-8 world title last year.
Pakistani players recorded two more notable achievements during the tournament. Ayan Hassan Khan played the highest-scoring word of the championship, while Azam Siddiqui registered the highest score in a single match.
The 21st World Youth Scrabble Championship featured 183 players from 11 countries, with Pakistan’s performance once again highlighting its strong presence in international youth Scrabble.
