Cloudflare Launches AI Workspace That Lets Employees Build Their Own Apps
Cloudflare has launched an open-source AI agent workspace for enterprise employees called Cloudflare OS, giving workers a way to build and share customised microapps based on their company’s internal knowledge.
The browser-based platform is designed to help employees create tools and workflows that reflect how their organisation actually operates.
Cloudflare said it developed Cloudflare OS to address a limitation in existing enterprise AI tools, which often lack an understanding of a company’s internal structure and working methods.
Employees Can Build Their Own AI Workflows
Cloudflare OS allows employees to create workflows tailored to their individual needs from the first day of deployment.
Workers can connect internal company knowledge and systems and use them to configure customised microapps. These applications can then be shared with other employees across the organisation.
The platform also allows employees to conduct research, create documents connected to real-time data and run automated workflows without waiting for assistance from IT departments or development teams.
Each microapp can have its own database, real-time capabilities and access controls.
Security and AI Model Controls
Cloudflare OS uses Cloudflare Access to verify every user and every request before providing access.
Companies can also connect their preferred AI model providers through Cloudflare AI Gateway rather than relying on a single model provider.
Administrators can monitor AI token usage and associated costs for individual employees, teams, and applications. They can also set budgets and rate limits to control usage.
Cloudflare OS can assign different AI models depending on the complexity of a task. Simpler workloads can be sent to smaller models, while tasks requiring more advanced reasoning can be directed to higher-performance models.
Cloudflare co-founder and CEO Matthew Prince said the company already uses the platform internally.
“Cloudflare OS is how we run Cloudflare,” Prince said.
He added that AI needs to move beyond isolated systems and developer bottlenecks if it is going to change how companies operate. According to Prince, employees should be able to safely build, improve, and automate their own workflows.
