China’s Wuxi Shengbao Vehicle Manufacturing Company has expressed interest in partnering with Pakistani businesses to manufacture two-wheelers for local consumers and export markets.
The company’s General Manager, Yang Zong, shared the proposal during a meeting with Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Mohammad Zikria Akbar Zia on Thursday.
Yang said the company wanted to establish joint ventures to develop local manufacturing, strengthen supply chains and transfer technical expertise to Pakistani workers. He also showcased the company’s OPAI brand of two-wheelers.
ICCI President Zia encouraged the Chinese company to partner with local businesses to manufacture electric motorcycles, scooters and bicycles in Pakistan. He said such partnerships could promote technology transfer, create jobs, reduce reliance on imported finished vehicles and expand export opportunities.
Zia also offered to connect the company with Pakistani manufacturers and investors to explore potential partnerships. He invited the delegation to showcase its electric mobility products at the chamber’s upcoming expo and display center.
