A Japanese travel vlogger was allegedly harassed by a group of young men while filming at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, with a video of the incident going viral on social media and drawing widespread criticism.
The footage appears to show the tourist recording videos at the iconic national landmark when several men gathered around her and continued following her as she walked through the premises.
In the video, the vlogger can be heard repeatedly saying “Sorry” and asking the group to stop, while some of the men allegedly continued to follow her, requested social media follows, and made remarks that left her visibly uncomfortable.
The incident reportedly took place at the Pakistan Monument, the lotus-shaped national monument located in Islamabad’s Shakarparian Hills and one of the country’s most visited tourist attractions.
The video has sparked outrage across social media platforms, with many Pakistanis condemning the behavior and urging authorities to identify those involved. Several users said such incidents damage Pakistan’s image and discourage international tourists from visiting the country.
Among those reacting to the incident was actor Aadi Khan, who expressed disappointment over the conduct of the individuals seen in the video and called for strict action, saying such behavior tarnishes Pakistan’s reputation abroad.
Islamabad Police have acknowledged the matter and said they are looking into the incident. However, no arrests or further details have been officially announced so far.
