Pakistan Army Announces Jobs for Retired Officers
The Pakistan Army has invited applications for 33 Civilian Gazetted Officer (CGO) posts at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and lower formations. The vacancies are for retired, released, or retiring Army officers with the required qualifications and experience.
The advertisement lists positions in aviation, engineering, psychology, procurement and other specialised fields. The Applicants must submit their forms by 29 September 2026.
Appointments will initially last three years. The Army may extend them by one year based on performance and recommendations from the relevant organisation.
Who Can Apply?
The eligibility section covers Colonels, Lieutenant Colonels, and Majors who have retired, been released, or are retiring after reaching their age or service limit.
The posts are job-specific or linked to particular Army arms. Candidates must have the service background, qualifications, and experience required for their chosen position.
Age Limits and Retirement Conditions
Colonels can apply up to the age of 54 years. Lieutenant Colonels and Majors must be 52 or below.
For pilot positions, the maximum age is 55 years for Colonels, Lieutenant Colonels and Majors.
Officers must have retired and been struck off strength within the last two years, excluding Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR). For pilots, this period is five years, excluding LPR.

Aviation and Engineering Requirements
The two aviation posts in Rawalpindi require Grade-I or Grade-II staff appointment experience at GHQ or an aviation setup. The advertisement lists instructor-pilot and other specified aviation qualifications as preferable.
The Gujranwala vacancies include 10 aviation pilot posts and one Aviation EME post. Pilot applicants need a BA/BSc, the specified flying qualifications, at least 1,500 flying hours and FC-II medical category. Their flight safety record must show no pilot-error accident in the last five years.
The Aviation EME post requires a BE in Aerospace or Avionics and OEM training in the technical aspects of the relevant systems.
The separate Aviation EME vacancy lists a BSc/BE in Aerospace or Avionics as preferable. It also requires the specified service courses, QAMS and five years of aviation maintenance experience.
Psychologist and Procurement Requirements
The psychologist vacancy requires an MS in Clinical Psychology or ADCP, a clinical psychologist licence and five years of relevant experience. Aviation psychology specialisation is desirable.
The six Major-level posts cover engineering, aviation, procurement, supply chain work and medical administration. Requirements vary by position.
These include an engineering degree, relevant service courses, procurement experience and, for the Army Medical Corps post, an MSc in Hospital Administration and the Mid-Career Course. Relevant master’s degrees, MBAs, supply chain qualifications and defence procurement courses are desirable for specified posts.
The Nowshera vacancy requires a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the listed service course qualification and a graduate or master’s degree.
The three technical posts in Rawalpindi seek Aerospace or Avionics engineers with relevant technical coordination, planning, production control, flight engineering or base workshop experience.
Who Is Not Eligible?
Officers cannot apply if they have a disciplinary case involving moral turpitude, character issues or misappropriation during service.
The advertisement also excludes officers compulsorily retired, released or discharged on grounds of inefficiency.
How to Apply for Civilian Gazetted Officer Jobs
Applicants can obtain forms from the AG’s Branch portal, CP Directorate (CP-IV), GHQ Rawalpindi, or their nearest Station Headquarters. The advertisement also allows photocopied forms.
Candidates must submit their applications in triplicate, meaning three copies, to AG’s Branch, CP Directorate (CP-IV), GHQ Rawalpindi.
The application must include four 2 × 2 photographs, with the applicant’s name written on the back of each photograph, a CNIC copy and copies of civilian qualification certificates.
Application Deadline and Selection Process
Applications must reach the designated office within 15 days of the advertisement’s publication in newspapers. The supplied notice does not give a separate calendar deadline.
Applicants will appear before a Special Selection Board at GHQ, Rawalpindi, at their own expense.
