CDA Orders Demolition of Illegal Structures Across Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered the removal of illegal constructions and unauthorized occupants from its water supply installations across Islamabad.

A directive issued by the CDA Directorate of Water Supply on September 9 said illegal structures had been found at water works, sumps, tube wells, and overhead and underground water tanks.

According to the directive, additional rooms and quarters were built without approval and went beyond the layouts originally approved by the authority.

CDA has ordered Deputy Directors to clear its land of unauthorized occupants and demolish structures built without approval. The operation will be conducted with the Enforcement Directorate, police, and other relevant agencies.

The authority also found that some occupants were using electricity and gas without separate meters. It directed that every allotted quarter have separate utility connections, with bills paid by the occupants.

Officials have been given 25 days to complete the operation and submit compliance reports.

CDA warned of disciplinary action against officials who fail to implement the orders.
