NADRA Makes Getting Digital ID Card Easier

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that citizens can now access and use their digital identity card through the PakID mobile app.

According to NADRA, the digital identity card has the same legal status as the original physical card. Citizens can therefore present the digital version instead of carrying or showing their physical identity card.

The process is available through the PakID mobile app. Users can open the Digital ID section in the app, select the option to apply for a Digital ID and submit the request. Once the application is approved, the digital card becomes available for download through the app.

The card can then be accessed directly on the user’s mobile phone for presentation when required. NADRA’s guide shows the process through four steps: opening the Digital ID option in the PakID app, applying for the digital card, waiting for approval and downloading the document once it becomes available.

The initiative is part of NADRA’s digital services aimed at allowing citizens to access identity-related documents through their mobile devices. NADRA has advised citizens to use the official PakID app for the service. The authority’s helpline is 1777, while further information is available through its official website.
