Punjab Orders Verification of School Enrollment Records

The School Education Department has ordered 100 percent verification of student enrollment data in government schools across Punjab, including Lahore, to curb alleged fake enrolment.

School heads have been directed to update accurate and latest enrolment records on the online portal.

Head teachers will verify name-wise enrolment data of students from pre-primary to class eight, while class nine students’ records will also be updated and verified by name on the portal.

The department has also instructed schools to enter details of class nine students in science, arts and matric tech groups separately.

Enrolment data for Urdu-medium and English-medium students will also be provided separately.

School heads have been told to complete the enrolment verification and certification process within three days.

Chief Executive Officers of Education have been assigned responsibility for ensuring that 100 percent of school data is collected and verified.

They have also been directed to verify the available surplus stock of free textbooks.

The requirement for free textbooks for the 2027-28 academic session will be determined on the basis of the newly verified enrolment data.

According to the School Education Department, school enrolment data and records of surplus free textbooks must be completed by September 8, 2026.

A special online portal has also been activated to correct any errors or omissions in the enrolment data.
