Solar Owners to Get Green Meters Faster
The Power Division has ordered power distribution companies and the Pakistan Information Technology Company (PITC) to quickly resolve pending net-metering cases.
The review will focus on cases where consumers had paid their demand notices before February 9, 2026, and had also completed other requirements, including obtaining net-metering licences, replacing or reprogramming meters and completing meter connection orders.
PITC has been tasked with checking the pending cases and updating its billing systems and software, so eligible connections can be added to the system without delay.
Power Division has also directed distribution companies to verify payments and other records to identify genuine pending applications.
The process covers relevant cases involving distribution companies and K-Electric.
The government said verification is intended to ensure that consumers who completed the required process before the February 9 cutoff are not unnecessarily delayed, while only eligible cases are approved.
