Gujranwala Man Takes Rs. 4 Crore from Australian Transgender in Fake Marriage Scam

Police in Gujranwala have registered a case against a man and his father after an Australian-born transgender person alleged that they were defrauded of more than Rs. 40 million through a fake marriage.

Police arrested the main suspect, Usman, along with his father Qasim, after the complaint was filed at Ladhewala Warraich Police Station.

According to the FIR, Usman contacted the complainant through TikTok in 2024. The Australian transgender person later developed a relationship with him and visited Pakistan twice.

The complainant alleged that Usman arranged a fake marriage certificate and had it registered with Union Council No. 39. The suspect allegedly received more than Rs. 40 million from the complainant through various transactions, with the money transferred to his bank account.

The complainant further alleged that when they attempted to return to Australia, Usman and his family members confined them and demanded additional money for their release. They also allegedly demanded Australian visas for Usman and his family.

According to the FIR, the complainant managed to escape on June 1 and reached Lahore.

Police said both suspects have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway. The allegations have not been proven in court.
