Pioneer Cement Approves Up to Rs. 4 Billion Loan for Maple Leaf Cement
Pioneer Cement Limited’s board has approved providing loans/investment of up to Rs. 4 billion to its holding company, Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited, subject to shareholder approval, in what the company described as a related party transaction under the Companies Act, 2017.
According to the company’s filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the proposed financing will be available for one year from September 18, 2026, to September 17, 2027.
The loan will carry a markup of one percent above the three-month KIBOR or 1 percent above the company’s average borrowing cost, whichever is higher. The board also announced that it had not recommended any cash dividend or bonus shares for the year.
The company said shareholders will vote on the proposal at its Annual General Meeting scheduled for September 15, 2026, in Lahore. Share transfer books will remain closed from September 9 to September 15, 2026.
Pioneer Cement reported a strong improvement in its annual financial performance for the year ended June 30, 2026. Net sales increased 16 percent to Rs. 38.58 billion from Rs. 33.31 billion a year earlier, while gross profit rose to Rs. 11.58 billion, compared with Rs. 10.44 billion in the previous year. Operating profit also climbed to Rs. 10.34 billion from Rs. 9.20 billion.
Profit before taxation increased to Rs. 10.09 billion, up from Rs. 8.09 billion last year, while profit after tax grew 35 percent to Rs. 6.59 billion from Rs. 4.88 billion. Earnings per share improved to Rs. 29.03, compared with Rs. 21.47 in the previous year.
The company also generated Rs. 9.67 billion in net cash from operating activities during the year and reduced its long term financing, while total assets stood at Rs. 79.44 billion as of June 30, 2026
