How to Get Discounted Petrol for Bikes, Rickshaws, Qingis and Cars

The Ministry of Information Technology has announced the registration procedure for the Prime Minister’s Special Petrol Relief Scheme, offering eligible citizens a discount of Rs. 100 per liter on petrol.

The ministry has developed an automated digital system in collaboration with NADRA, telecom operators and provincial departments to manage registration and verification under the scheme.

Under the initiative, owners of motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi rickshaws and vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc will be eligible for subsidized petrol.

Motorcycle and Qingqi rickshaw owners will receive discounted petrol for up to 20 liters per month. Meanwhile, owners of vehicles up to 800cc will be eligible for a monthly limit of 30 liters.

The authorities will verify vehicles through an automated system connected with provincial transport and excise departments.

For registration, citizens must send an SMS from a SIM registered in their own name. The message should include their CNIC number, vehicle number, provincial code, and registration date.

After successful registration, applicants will receive a confirmation message on their mobile phones.

Before visiting a petrol pump, registered citizens will need to send “TOK” to 9771. They can then show the received token at the petrol station to receive discounted petrol.

The supply of discounted petrol in Islamabad will begin between Monday and Tuesday midnight.

Across the country, the distribution of subsidized petrol will start between Wednesday and Thursday midnight.
