YouTube Music Will Now Tell You If a Song Was Made With AI

YouTube Music is rolling out new “Made with AI” labels to help listeners identify music created using generative artificial intelligence.

Artists have already been using generative AI to create music, but listeners may not always know when AI was involved in producing a track.

AI Labels Appear on the Music Player

Songs featuring AI-generated compositions or vocals will display an AI label directly on the YouTube Music player page.

Users can tap the label to view additional information about the track.

The labels are rolling out on YouTube Music starting today and will also arrive on the main YouTube app soon.

YouTube Is Using Detection Tools

YouTube says it is using its own detection technology to identify AI-generated music.

The company is also working with partners across the music industry to help determine which songs contain AI-generated material.

The new labeling system is intended to give listeners clearer information about when generative AI has been used in the music they are hearing.
