Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its next foldable smartphone will be called the Xiaomi 18 Fold, rather than the previously expected Mix Fold 5.
The new foldable will launch in September 2026 and become the first smartphone powered by Xiaomi’s second-generation Xring O3 flagship chipset.
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing has already started using the device publicly, while reservations for the 18 Fold have opened in China ahead of its launch.
Record-Breaking Score
The Xring O3 scored an impressive 5,228,014 points on AnTuTu V11, making it the first mobile flagship chipset to cross the five-million-point mark, according to Xiaomi’s testing.
The chip is manufactured using a 3nm process and contains around 24 billion transistors, up from 19 billion on the previous Xring O1.
It uses a 10-core CPU with two C1-Ultra cores running at up to 4.35GHz, four C1-Premium cores reaching 3.68GHz, and four C1-Pro cores clocked at up to 3.15GHz.
In Geekbench 6, Xiaomi reports a 15,221 multi-core score, representing a 60% improvement over the previous generation. Reported single-core performance reaches around 3,945 points.
Huge GPU and AI Upgrades
Graphics are handled by Xiaomi’s new 16-core G2-Ultra NX GPU.
According to Xiaomi, conventional GPU performance improves by up to 85% compared with Xring O1, while ray-tracing performance increases by as much as 182%. Power consumption at equivalent performance can be reduced by up to 64%.
The Xring O3 also becomes the first mobile processor to support LPDDR6 memory, delivering bandwidth of up to 113.8GB/s, 48% higher than its predecessor.
AI performance has received another major upgrade. The redesigned NPU delivers up to 200 TOPS of tensor computing performance and is optimized for Xiaomi’s MiMo on-device AI models.
Xiaomi says overall on-device AI performance has improved by 45%.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold will officially debut in September, with complete specifications, pricing, and availability expected to be revealed closer to launch.
