The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has warned consumers with long-standing unpaid bills that it will disconnect their water connections if they fail to settle their dues within the final deadline.
WASA issued the warning during a revenue recovery operation in E-Block, Satellite Town, where officials targeted both domestic and commercial consumers with outstanding payments.
The operation followed special instructions from WASA Rawalpindi Managing Director Aziz Ullah Khan. Senior Special Magistrate WASA Amir Ashfaq Qureshi, Director Finance and Revenue Tahir Bashir Mirza and Deputy Director Revenue Akmal Yasin supervised the operation, while WASA field teams and Punjab Police personnel assisted the enforcement staff.
Qureshi said WASA had given the defaulters a final opportunity to clear their outstanding bills. He warned that consumers who fail to meet the deadline will lose their water connections and may also face legal proceedings under the law.
He said the recovery campaign seeks to improve the agency’s collection of outstanding revenue and strengthen its financial position. WASA will not provide special concessions or preferential treatment to consumers who continue to default, he added.
Qureshi urged consumers with unpaid dues to settle their accounts immediately to avoid disconnection and legal action. He said WASA will expand the recovery operation to other parts of Rawalpindi and will take action against defaulters without discrimination.
