vivo has launched the T5 5G, making it the sixth smartphone in the company’s T5 series. The launch follows the vivo T5 4G, which arrived in May.
Compared to the Vivo T5 4G, the phone brings upgrades nearly all across the board, including an AMOLED display, a new ultrawide camera, faster chipset and storage, and more.
Design and Display
The vivo T5 5G features a 6.83-inch 3D curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,260 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
The display includes a centered punch-hole for the 32MP front camera, while an under-display fingerprint scanner handles biometric authentication. The phone also supports wet touch, allowing users to operate the screen with wet hands.
At the back, vivo has used what it calls a “Skyline Camera Module,” which contains two rear cameras and a circular flash.
The phone also comes with dual stereo speakers, MIL-STD-810H certification, and IP68 and IP69 ratings for protection against water and dust.
vivo offers the T5 5G in Royal Bronze and Silver Green colors.
Internals and Software
The vivo T5 5G uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
It runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 out of the box. vivo has promised three Android OS upgrades along with five years of security updates for the device.
The phone also includes a 3,800 mm² vapor chamber cooling system to manage heat.
Four memory configurations are available: 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB.
Cameras
The vivo T5 5G has a dual-camera setup on the back. Its main camera uses a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor with optical image stabilization, while the second camera is an 8MP ultrawide.
On the front, the phone has a 32MP selfie camera.
Both the 50MP primary camera and the front camera can record 4K video at 30 frames per second.
Battery and Pricing
The vivo T5 5G packs a 7,050mAh battery and supports 44W charging.
In India, the 6GB/128GB model costs $370, while the 8GB/128GB version is priced at $425. The 8GB/256GB model costs $476, and the top-end 12GB/256GB model costs $529.
