University of Agriculture Faisalabad Raises Fees by Over 50%

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has significantly increased undergraduate fees for the 2026-27 academic session, with several programs seeing semester charges rise by more than 50% compared to the previous year.

According to the university’s fee schedules, the first-semester fee for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture has increased from Rs. 35,000 in 2025-26 to Rs. 54,000 for 2026-27, representing a 54% increase.

The increase is even higher for some other programs. BS Biotechnology, for instance, has gone from Rs. 35,000 per semester in the previous fee schedule to Rs. 84,000 under the new structure.

Similarly, B.Sc. (Hons.) Poultry Sciences, Animal Sciences and Dairy Sciences have increased from Rs. 44,000 to Rs. 65,000 for the first semester.

Fees for science and computing programs have also increased. BS Physics and BS Chemistry now carry a first-semester fee of Rs. 78,000, compared with Rs. 55,050 previously. Meanwhile, BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science have a first-semester fee of Rs. 60,000.

The new fee schedule also shows substantially higher total degree costs. For example, the total fee listed for B.Sc. Agriculture is Rs. 432,000, while BS Biotechnology is listed at Rs. 672,000.

The sharp increase is likely to put additional financial pressure on families already struggling with rising education and living costs.

For many middle-class households, the rising cost of public university education could make it increasingly difficult to afford undergraduate degrees for their children.
